One such NPE called Scramoge Technology has recently filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung, Business Korea reports. According to the report, the Dublin-based company alleges the Korean brand of using its patented wireless charging technology without appropriate permission. It is claiming infringements of as many as seven wireless charging patents. The company has mentioned the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 among the infringing products. This isn’t even the first lawsuit Scramoge Technology has filed against Samsung alleging patent infringements....

The ongoing global semiconductor shortage is causing this demand-supply gap. Samsung is unable to produce the new foldables in bulk because of this chip shortage issue. And as more people order the phones, the gap continues to widen. The report suggests that customers are having to wait up to a month for their orders to ship. This lengthy delay could put some potential customers off, thus causing a loss to Samsung....

Well, Nikkei Asia seems to know the answer to those questions. Stating that the Tensor SoC will be a 5nm chipset. That’s the same process that Qualcomm’s latest, the Snapdragon 888, is built on. And Samsung will be handling the production of the Tensor SoC too. Samsung did decline to comment on Nikkei Asia’s report. Which likely means that it is true. Of course, that is also information that we may never really know....

Samsung is apparently logging all acceleration-based free-falls of the Galaxy Z Flip 3. So whenever you take it for repair, the company engineers would refer to this data to determine whether the damage is caused by some manufacturing defect or due to your mishandling of the device. And if they found out that you had dropped the phone from a height greater than one meter, they could refuse to repair the phone for free even if it is under warranty....
