Color Trends to Try in 2017
Color Trends to Try in 2017
1. Light Auburn
We don’t know about you, but we can’t get over this gorgeous auburn shade. Adding in lighter highlights (that aren’t all the way blonde) also work to keep this hair color nice and bright. To keep your shade truly auburn make sure that your hair colorist keeps the base color firmly planted in brown. Too much red isn’t a good thing if auburn hair is the goal.
2. Blue
Say buh bye to the aqua shades of 2016. In 2017 blue hair color trends are leaning towards the darker side of the spectrum. As with all brightly colored shades, with navy blue hair you’ll need to be careful to wash your hair with Dove Nutritive Solutions Color Care Shampoo and Dove Nutritive Solutions Color Care Conditioner to make sure that your color lasts. Small price to pay for hair this pretty.
3. Dark Blonde Ombre
If you have naturally light brown hair, try this dirty blonde ombre shade for 2017. It adds a little bit of pep into less exciting brown colors but isn’t so light that it reads as blonde. To keep your ombre shade from looking too bright (i.e. super fake) keep the blonde on the cool side. An ashy dirty blonde shade is perfection.
4. Color Blocked Brown
2016 showed us that color blocking is in for pretty much everything. 2017? Try it in your hair. You don’t need to go for a dramatic color change either! We love the lifted effect this monochrome brown on brown shade works. To get the most out of color blocked hair, it’s best to have long layers so you can see the colors underneath.
5. Orange-Ginger
The pumpkin spice craze of 2016 got ginger hair back on the radar, and 2017 is looking even more orange. If you are dying your hair a red shade this year, start getting used to using dry shampoo a few times a week. This will help your hair to last an extra day in between washes, which is important for faux red heads since red dye tends to wash out quickly. We like the Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Color Care Dry Shampoo for people who go for the big color change.
6. Cool Platinum
The silvery white hair trend of the last few years is evolving in 2017 into a cooler toned platinum blonde. It is lighter than your silvery dye but still not quite perfectly white. This cool shade is super flattering on different skin tones and it’s basically made for the pixie cut, no?
7. Blush
It is time to say goodbye to the rose gold hair trend and say hello to it’s elegant older sister, blush. This muted dusky pink shade is jaw dropping, to say the least. It’s a much cooler tone (and effect, really) than rose gold. This shade is in our dream hair bank, for sure.
8. Jet Black
For the darkest of dark hair, try jet black! This truly dark shade is neutral toned, none of that blue black happening in 2017. This dark color is stunning on all complexions because of it’s neutral tone. Try this one out if you want something totally new (and bold!) in 2017.
