Android 12L fixed 80 issues for Pixel phones
We’re aware that Android will bring some welcome changes and tweaks to the software. There are some subtle aesthetic functional differences between both versions of the software. Those currently testing out the new version have noticed that Android 12L is a lot more stable than Android 12 proper. This is because, aside from the apparent changes, Google made some improvements under the hood. Android 12L fixes 80 current issues plaguing Pixel phones, and that involves phones from the Pixel 6 all the way back to the Pixel 3a. Even though the Pixel 3 got the update to Android 12, it won’t get Android 12L. This, unfortunately, means that any issues with Android 12 now will remain on those phones.

While there are 80 issues, they don’t all affect each of the phones. Some issues only affect the Pixel 6 phones, and some only affect the others. Most of these issues depend on the model and what functionality they have. For starters, the update fixes the recent Wi-Fi issue that impacted Pixel 6 phones. This caused the Wi-Fi to disable itself completely. Accessing the Wi-Fi from the quick settings and from the actual menu both yielded the same result. Also for the Pixel 6 Phones, Android 12L brings improvements to the under-display fingerprint scanner. This is another area where the Pixel 6 had some major issues. For the Pixel 4 phones, there were fixes to the face unlock. As for graphical issues, there are some additional fixes. The screen flicker when the notification shade is pulled has been fixed. Also, the green flicker that would happen when viewing HDR content has also been taken care of. That’s only a small amount of the long list of issues. There are a lot of other issues that will be fixed when android 12L comes out.

Speaking of Android 12L coming out, the official version of the software is currently rolling out. As per the schedule, Google is launching Android 12L on all Pixel phones from the Pixel 3a to the Pixel 5a; again, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are not getting the update. If you’re wondering why the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro aren’t on the list, it’s not because Google doesn’t like those phones anymore. The company will launch the official version of the software for those phones later in the month.
