This was a big upgrade over the previous 6-Series from TCL, as that was capped at 1440p resolution at 120Hz. But, TCL didn’t just give consumers a single HDMI 2.1 port on this TV. Instead, there are two HDMI 2.1 ports. TCL didn’t stop there though. It included and HDMI eARC port, but it is not one of the HDMI 2.1 ports. So you can plug in your soundbar and not use up one of those precious HDMI 2.1 ports that you might need for a gaming console. That’s really smart on TCL, and something we hope to see the market adopt in the future. On top of that, TCL 6-Series also includes Variable Refresh Rate or VRR for gamers, as well as AMD FreeSync for the PC gamers out there. So no matter what platform you game on, this is going to be the perfect TV.

Not only does the new TCL 6-Series offer up serious gaming chops here. But the TCL 6-Series is also powered by Roku. So of those four HDMI ports on the back of the TV, one won’t need to be used for a streaming device. Since Roku has basically every app you can think of, as well as Chromecast and Google Assistant. Aside from the software, TCL has also included a really great display on this TV. It’s a Mini LED once again, with 360 dimming zones. This means that it’s going to be nice and bright, but also provide you with some deep blacks. That’s where Mini LED really stands out compared to LCD, which TCL uses on its cheaper TVs. Lest we forget that it also has Dolby Vision included, making for a really incredible picture quality. There are other HDR formats included too. That includes HDR10, HDR10 Plus and HLG. So no matter what you’re watching, on whatever streaming service, it’s going to look amazing on this TV. Finally, we can’t forget that the pricing on this TV is really amazing. It starts at $699 for the 55-inch model, and runs up to $1,499 for the 75-inch. Which is impressive for HDMI 2.1, and Mini LED. These are all reasons why the TCL 6-Series 4K Roku TV has earned our Best Of IFA 2022 award this year.
