As of this writing, the latest update for the US Galaxy S20 FE 5G is available to unlocked units on several wireless carriers, including AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. The remaining few should also join the party soon. The new firmware version for the phone is G781U1UEU7EVB3. The March SMR (security maintenance release) should also soon reach the carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the US. The new security patch contains fixes for more than 50 vulnerabilities. The majority of those come from Google but there are some Samsung-specific fixes as well. The latest update may also bring some device stability and performance improvements. As for One UI 4.1, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G is already receiving the latest iteration of Samsung’s custom Android software in some international markets. These units that are sold in the US should be getting it soon too. Watch out for it in the coming days. One UI 4.1 brings a host of new features to Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S20 FE 5G. We have improved Color Palette for dynamic theming, improved Object Eraser, new and improved camera features, Grammarly-integrated Samsung Keyboard, new customization options, improved Bixby Routines, customizable RAM Plus, and a Google Duo live sharing feature.

The March security patch is also now rolling to a few other Galaxy smartphones. These include the Galaxy A71, Galaxy Xcover 5, and a few budgets models such as the Galaxy A02s, Galaxy A13, and the Galaxy A21. The OTA (over the air) rollout for these phones varies from model to model. But if you’re using any of these phones, you should be receiving the update very soon if you haven’t already. As always, your phone will notify you about the OTA rollout once it becomes available. But you can also manually check for updates from the Settings app. Simply scroll down and open the Software update menu and tap on the Download and install option. If an update is available, you will be prompted to download it. If there’s no update available, check back again later.
