The Galaxy Z Flip 3 teardown begins in a familiar fashion
The disassembly of this handset is somewhat similar to tearing apart a regular smartphone, at least at first. You’ll need a heat gun in order to remove the phone’s glass back cover. Once you do that, you’ll need to disconnect the cover display cable, remove some screws, and detach the battery cable. That was you’ll have clear access to the top side of the phone, and a 1.9-inch secondary panel.

In that portion of the device, you’ll also find a mainboard, the phone’s dual camera setup, and a 930mAh battery (one of the two batteries inside this phone). Taking out that battery may be an issue for some, though, as there are no pull tabs. In the bottom portion of the device, you’ll notice a rather large graphite pad for thermal management. A 2,370mAh battery (the larger one of the two) is also placed here, as is the phone’s main speaker and a charging port. This teardown video will also allow you to take a closer look at the phone’s flexible display, and its hinge, which is one of the best parts of this device.

It’s not exactly easy to repair
Not surprisingly, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is not that easy to repair. PBKreviews gave it a 4/10 repairability rating, which is not exactly high, needless to say. Still, it’s better than some other foldable smartphones scored, that’s for sure. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is quite an improvement in comparison to its predecessor. Not only is it considerably more powerful, but it looks sleeker, and has a larger rear display. On top of that, Samsung made some improvements on the front as well.
