‘Magic Eraser’ is now available on more phones, unofficially
This new APK comes from Nail Sadykov, a man who runs the GoogleNews Telegram group. Quite a few people were able to get this APK going, as it seems like Magic Eraser works in collaboration with other chips as well. People have managed to get it going on the Pixel 3a, 3 XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, Pixel 5, and Pixel 5a. One Twitter user even managed to use it on a non-Pixel smartphone. So, if you’re interested in this feature, you may want to try installing this APK on your device. We’re talking about an altered version of Google Photos v5.64, which you can grab from the Telegram group. As previously stated, this is an altered version of the Google Photos app, and as such, you’re installing it on your own responsibility. Naila Sadykov is a well-known person in the industry, and many people are using his work, so… there should be no issues.

It is possible that Google will patch this up, and block non-Tensor SoCs from using this feature. The company can easily do that if it wants, as this feature was supposed to be exclusive to the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, at least for now. Google did promise that it will do its best to bring Pixel 6 features to older Pixel phones, and perhaps even other devices in general. It did also say that some features are tied to the Pixel 6 hardware. We thought that Magic Eraser is one of them, but it appears that’s not the case, at least not entirely.
