And just like the title says this helps any Cyberpunk 2077 player make millions of eddies in just a matter of minutes. However, there is a little bit of buildup to this. You can’t just start playing the game and immediately go to start making that much money from the beginning. Just like in the real world, you have to work your way up to it. Unlike the real world this takes far less effort and not nearly as much time. But, it doesn’t have to be that far into the game and can be done mostly early on. You will probably want to wait though until you get a few things you might want more of. Like say, epic and legendary crafting and upgrade components. Because having a ton of those will come in very handy as you progress through the game. But, first things first, you need to acquire what will help you make all this money in record time. Having said all that, this method for making money is fairly game-breaking. If you don’t want to make this much money this quickly on your main playthrough, you could always do this on a second playthrough when you’re going for one of the different endings. Almost like a new game+ where you have enough money to buy all of Night City piece by piece.
Cyberpunk 2077 lets you sell a valuable painting for eddies, and you need it
Cyberpunk 2077 lets you sell a valuable painting for eddies, and you need it
The first thing you will need to do is locate a specific painting called Untitled 18 – Brancesi, 2021 that you can sell in the game. This is an item reward from a quest. And it’s the linchpin to making this whole thing work efficiently. This quest is located near the PieZ fast travel point in Santo Domingo. Once you travel to that location, you’re going to be looking for a quest marker on the map. You can see where exactly in one of the images above that has V’s green marker alongside a white marker that’s being tracked. It’s fairly close by, so you can run to it or drive to it from the PieZ travel point. To start the quest, you’ll need to walk up to a group of three guys standing next to a table outside of the building at the quest marker. There will be a briefcase on the table behind them. And listening to them talk will eventually allow you to make a couple of response choices in the conversation, which starts the quest. Basically you’ll be asking them for the briefcase. Then finish the quest that comes after this one which rewards you with the painting. Success! You now have what is probably the best item in Cyberpunk 2077 to sell for ludicrous amounts of eddies.
Update:
The duplication glitch in this guide has been patched and the painting can no longer be bought back for $5. So you can no longer use this method to make money.
Find a vendor drop box
Find a vendor drop box
Any vendor drop box will do. So just pop open the map and find one that you want to use, then fast travel to or near that drop box. Before you go any further, make sure to create an extra save game state. That way if you don’t do things correctly or if something gets messed up, you can just load back to the save and try again. Once you get there, what you’re going to do is sell the painting. You’ll get $4,000 from selling the one. Fear not though, because you’ll be getting it back and you can sell more. There is a trick to this though and it more or less glitches the game. As you’ll be buying the painting back for $5 and you’ll be duplicating it so you’ll have more to sell. You can probably see where this is going. But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. First, open the vendor box and sell the painting. Before you exit out of the sale screen, this is where you’re going to want to also sell anything else that you might want to duplicate. So as suggested, this would be where you sell some epic and legendary crafting and upgrade components. What you’re going to do is sell one of each of those components, and then the painting itself. After you’ve sold them all, exit out of the vendor box screen.
Initiate the glitch
Next, what you want to do is glitch the vendor so this method works. To do this, right after you exit the vendor box screen you need to press a couple of buttons at the exact same time. You need to hit the button that opens your menu where you find save game, load game etc. and then the button to interact with the vendor box and sell items. If you’re playing the game on PC, then the escape key is your button for opening the menu. Simply press the escape key and whatever your button is used to sell items to the vendor drop box at the same time. Players on PlayStation will need to press the options key and the triangle button on the controller. Meanwhile players on the Xbox will need to press button with the two windows on it and whatever buttons lets you sell items to the vendor drop box. When you do this you’re looking for a specific screen to pop up. It should be the vendor menu with items you can sell or buy, but the background should be fairly transparent so you can see the vendor drop box itself behind the menu of items you can sell or buy. It should look like the images above.
Buy back all of your stuff
Now comes the part where you start duplicating the items you sold just a minute ago. If you made it to the right screen after opening the vendor drop box, then anything you just sold will be there to buy back. The painting will be purchasable for $5, while the crafting components will vary in price. Clicking or tapping on them will not show any exchange of money for the items you buy. But if you’re clicking them, then those items should be going into your inventory and you’ll see all that after you exit the vendor. Here is where you can really score big. And how much money you make all depends on how long you’re willing to sit here and click buy on that painting and any other components you tossed in there. In about 10 minutes, I was able to re-buy the painting enough to duplicate it to about 2,300 paintings. Which is close to $8 million or more in total if I sell them all off. Now when you re-buy the crafting and upgrade components, those will cost more than what you sold them for. But that won’t matter because you’re buying them to duplicate them. Not to sell them. And spending the money on them helps make selling the paintings less time consuming. Because every component you buy back during the duplication step, that money goes into the vendor on top of its initial $20,000. So the more components you buy back, the more money the vendor will have the first time you sell paintings back. After that, you will need to refresh the vendor drop box money by skipping time ahead 24 hours. Then repeating the selling process until you want to stop. Once you have what you think is going to be enough of all the stuff you sold off, freshly duplicated, back out of the vendor.
Sell the paintings to make back the eddies you spent
Sell the paintings to make back the eddies you spent
After you exit the vendor you’ll start to see stuff entering your inventory immediately just like when you pick things up. You should also see some money deplete. Don’t worry if you more or less spent everything you had because you can just sell the paintings and make it all back tenfold. Now once you open your inventory you should see that you have a whole lot more paintings, each worth $4,000 eddies. Notice any crafting and upgrade components that you decided to duplicate have jumped up as well. Keep in mind that you can do this anytime you want to make more money or get more components. You can also sit and click buy during the step where you’re duplicating items for a longer period of time and then you’ll be set with money and components likely for the rest of the game. So here’s my recommendation. If you only want to do this once, then sit and duplicate items during that step of this process for about 30-45 minutes. Yes it’s tedious. But it pays off in the long run. Just pull up an episode of something in a separate window or on a second screen and watch it while you buy and duplicate items. Then you’re set. That’s all there is to it. Now you should have plenty of eddies to last you through the rest of your time playing Cyberpunk 2077.
