MediaTek Dimensity 1300 specifications

The Dimenstity 1300 is based on a 6nm TSMC architecture and features a triple cluster CPU arrangement. We have one ARM Cortex-A78 CPU “Ultra” core operating at up to 3.0GHz and three more Cortex-A78 “Super” cores clocked at 2.6GHz. The four Cortex-A55 “Efficiency” cores are operating at up to 2GHz. The 9-core Arm Mali-G77 MC9 GPU handles the graphics duties. This chipset supports up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM with a maximum frequency of 4266Mbps. It also supports UFS 3.1 type storage. It can handle FullHD+ screens (2520×1080 pixels) of up to 168Hz refresh rate. We have hardware-accelerated AV1 decoding for faster and power-efficient 4K video streaming. The 5-core ISP (image signal processor) on the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 can handle up to 200-megapixel cameras and supports 4K video recording. The company claims its staggered 4K HDR Video, which uses real-time 3-exposure fusion, offers a 40 percent greater Dynamic Range than standard HDR. Other camera features include multi-person portrait video, AI-Panorama Night Shot video, and Multi-Depth Smart Focus. Of course, the Dimensity 1300 is a 5G-enabled processor. MediaTek says it supports 5G Carrier Aggregation and both SA (standalone) and NSA (non-standalone) network modes. It also supports true dual 5G SIM (5G SA + 5G SA). The company is claiming download speeds of up to 4.7Gbps and upload speeds of up to 2.5Gbps. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and all major global navigation systems, including GPS, BeiDo, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC. The new MediaTek processor supports the company’s HyperEngine 5.0 gaming technology. It brings features such as AI-VRS (variable rate shading) for enhanced graphics, reduced latency for wireless earbuds, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Hybrid 2.0.

Based on these specifications, the Dimensity 1300 doesn’t bring too many upgrades over the Dimensity 1200. Perhaps HyperEngine 5.0 gaming technology is the only notable upgrade. With Qualcomm also reportedly developing a new premium mid-range chipset in the Snapdragon 7 series, it could have strong competition in the market. MediaTek hasn’t shared information regarding the market debut of the Dimensity 1300. But reports suggest that OnePlus’ upcoming mid-range offering, which may arrive as the OnePlus Nord 2T, could be the first to use this chipset. We will likely hear more about this in the coming weeks.
