The November SMR (security maintenance release) is hitting the carrier-locked versions of Samsung’s original clamshell folding phone quite late stateside. The Korean giant began rolling out the update in the last week of October and has seeded it to dozens of its Galaxy smartphones and tablets since then. In fact, the international versions of the Galaxy Z Flip, including the 5G variant, have already received the December security update. Nonetheless, as they say, better late than never....

The October SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is rolling out with firmware version F926BXXS2CVIG in Asia, Europe, and Australia. In the US, the update is currently only available for unlocked units and comes with firmware version F926U1UES2DVI4. Samsung should soon cover carrier-locked variants in the US, while also expanding the update to markets like Latin America and its homeland South Korea. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is also picking up the October SMR in the same markets as the Fold model....
