Amon was speaking to reporters from South Korea in the backdrop of Qualcomm’s latest chip announcements, including the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. He added that chip supply has already increased from 2020, adding that it could improve further in 2022. The chip crisis has hit Qualcomm pretty hard as it was unable to provide enough processors to phone makers. This eventually led to the cancellation of multiple products. The impact was prominent on Samsung which happens to be one of the largest smartphone producers in the world....
In a press release, Qualcomm stated that it has agreed on a seven-year extension of its patent license agreement for networking technologies with Samsung. This agreement covers 3G, 4G, 5G, and the upcoming 6G networking technologies. This should mean the Korean firm will equip its Galaxy devices with Qualcomm-made network components for years to come. This partnership doesn’t only concern smartphones, though. Samsung will also use Qualcomm technologies across various other product categories, including tablets, PCs, extended reality, and more....
