The December SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the Galaxy S10 series in the US is currently limited to carrier-locked units. Samsung is seeding the new security patch with firmware version G97*USQS8IVL1, SamMobile reports. The handsets aren’t getting any new features or enhancements but the latest SMR contains plenty of vulnerability fixes. The company mentions as many as 80 patches in its security bulletin updated earlier this month. Samsung’s 3nm chips are based on the Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistor architecture. It’s a new chip architecture that brings performance and power improvements over the FinFET (Fin field-effect transistor) architecture that current solutions employ.
