Samsung made a record KRW 73.98 trillion (approx. $63.2 billion) in revenue during Q3 2021. The figure marks a healthy ten percent year-on-year (YoY) increase from a year earlier when it made a then-record KRW 66.96 in revenue. The South Korean firm also made a whopping KRW 15.82 trillion (approx. $13.5 billion) in operating profit this past quarter. It’s the second-highest quarterly profit in the company’s history and the highest in the past three years....

Now, the less expensive TVs up for grabs from Samsung for Black Friday are the older or less advanced models. The difference between QLED and Neo QLED, for starters, is that Neo QLED builds on the foundation of QLED. So it’s QLED but improved substantially. Offerings on the QLED front start at a 43-Inch Class QLED TV in Samsung’s Q60A Series. That’s priced at $497.99, 17-percent off the typical $599.99 price....

Despite competing with each other in several industries, Samsung and LG have collaborated on multiple occasions over the years. So this news doesn’t come as a surprise. The former has been using the latter’s batteries in its smartphones since 2019, simultaneously with solutions from its sister firm Samsung SDI as well as other third-party suppliers. The Galaxy S10 series was reportedly the first Samsung smartphone to feature LG batteries. Subsequent Galaxy S models as well as the now-discontinued Galaxy Note series also used the Korean firm’s power units....

Samsung began 3nm production in June this year. The company is using a new transistor architecture for its most advanced semiconductors yet. Called Gate-All-Around, aka GAA, this tech allows for denser packaging of transistors for a smaller footprint. It also brings performance and power improvements over the FinFET (Fin field-effect transistor) architecture employed by Samsung’s 4nm or bigger solutions. However, several months into the production, Samsung is still not getting huge orders for 3nm chips....
