He also added: “Others are small manufacturers, including the Korean company (Samsung), which may be mainly sold in the US and South Korea markets”....

Huawei’s new tablet does come with some improvements in comparison to last year’s model, not to mention a new and improved case. I’m going to ramble on about that case for quite some time, probably, as it’s easily the best tablet case I’ve used to date. In any case, let’s get this party started, shall we? We’ll kick things off with the design, and cover various different aspects of this thing....

This ban on Instagram doesn’t come as a surprise though. Russia had announced plans last week, having already banned Facebook and Twitter. The country had cited “discrimination against Russian media” as the reason for banning Facebook. Meanwhile, the ban on Instagram is because of the parent company Meta, which also owns Facebook, allowing users in foreign countries including Ukraine to make posts calling for violence against Russian soldiers. “This decision will cut 80 million in Russia off from one another, and from the rest of the world as ~80% of people in Russia follow an Instagram account outside their country....

In a recent interview with the Washington Post, Mosseri referred to the idea as “the right thing to do.” Facebook and its social networking subset Instagram have come under fire in recent years for their lack of control over abusing content and disseminating misleading information. The new documents found by Wall Street Journal show that Facebook has prioritized growth over safety, leading to less observation over users and contents. Moreover, the lack of sufficient observation in the countries outside of the United States made Facebook and Instagram a safe platform for criminal and authoritarian regimes....

The feature appears to be live in Turkey, as reported by Matt Navarra. Additionally, Brazilian tech journalist Thássius Veloso also received the feature. This suggests that Instagram is preparing a wider rollout of vertical scrolling for Stories. Instagram’s new Stories layout still allows users to tap either the left or right of the screen to view Stories from the same person. However, switching to another user’s Stories will require users to swipe down (via 9to5Mac)....
