Samsung C-suite executives decided to talk openly about their sales targets for new devices. According to the market surveys, the demand for foldable phones in 2021 is up to 6.5 million units. This figure is in line with Samsung’s sales forecasts. So the Korean company hopes to gain more market share in foldable devices in 2021. Bryan Choi, Samsung Mobile Communications EVP, says that the company wants to launch devices “beyond the market demand” for the year. “With the new Galaxy Z series, we’re bringing foldable innovations to more consumers by breaking down the barriers of entry with our pricing. I am confident that with our new Galaxy Z series, we can drive record high demand for foldable, inviting even more consumers to enjoy this new way of using their smartphone.” A Samsung executive noted.

According to Dr. Won-Joon Choi, they used Armor Aluminum and Gorilla Glass Victus to protect the outer body of the Galaxy Z series. Moreover, he claims that this is the strongest aluminum frame and toughest glass material yet. “Thanks to all these innovations, we believe that foldable smartphones such as the Galaxy Z series are set to become the new standard in mobile devices as the category turns mainstream.” Samsung R&D head added.
