Samsung opened the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 beta program for the Galaxy S21 series in September. The Korean firm has so far released three beta builds. It also released a hotfix following the most recent beta build, which is based on the final Android 12 AOSP (Android Open Source Project) release. This suggested that the company is close to pushing the update in the stable channel. Now, the confirmation of the beta program closing for new users further hints at it. Samsung has significantly improved its software game in recent years. The One UI 4.0 beta program kicked off almost a month earlier than the One UI 3.0 last year. And it’s now seemingly coming to an end as well, at least for the Galaxy S21 series. All these point towards an early release of the Android 12 update for Samsung devices. The company is aiming to update the Galaxy S21 series with One UI 4.0 before the end of the year. But the update could come well ahead of that. We would not be surprised if the Galaxy S21 series picks up the stable One UI 4.0 update next month.

While the One UI 4.0 beta for the Galaxy S21 series is seemingly coming to a close, Samsung is preparing to launch a beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldables. It will likely first open to users in South Korea but should soon be available in other countries as well. The One UI 4.0 beta program for the Galaxy S21 series was open in seven countries. Along with its homeland South Korea, Samsung also lets users in China, Germany, India, Poland, the UK, and the US participate in the program. These are the same seven countries where the One UI 3.0 beta was available last year. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will likely receive One UI 4.0 beta in most of these countries. We will keep you posted. Meanwhile, Samsung recently released a couple of promotional videos explaining One UI 4.0.
