T-Mobile’s Extended Range 5G signal relies on the 600MHz spectrum. You won’t get super-fast speeds on this spectrum but the coverage is quite broad. Meanwhile, its Ultra Capacity 5G taps into the mid-band 2.5GHz spectrum. This spectrum is more about speeds than coverage. It’s still available more widely than the mmWave 5G spectrum that AT&T and Verizon have deployed their super-fast 5G networks on. T-Mobile acquired the mid-band 2.5GHz spectrum via the Sprint merger. Coming to the first-ever T-Mobile-branded 5G mobile hotspot, the company hasn’t shared its detailed specs yet. But it claims the device to be quite compact and lightweight for effortless portability. Be it a small house party or a quick work session at the cafe, the device will give you a reliable internet connection wherever, and whenever. You can connect up to 32 devices simultaneously, so everyone in your group is covered. Its 6460mAh battery will keep it running for the whole day.

T-Mobile currently only sells one 5G-enabled mobile hotspot — the Inseego 5G MiFi M2000. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and can handle up to 30 connections simultaneously. The device comes with a 5,050mAh battery. While T-Mobile doesn’t yet specify the Wi-Fi standard for its solution, it seemingly betters the Inseego device in most other aspects. All this at a significantly lesser price too. The T-Mobile 5G mobile hotspot costs $198 vs. the $336-priced Inseego 5G MiFi M2000.  So the latest addition not only gives T-Mobile customers more choices for 5G mobile hotspots but an affordable alternative too. The device will go on sale next Thursday, June 16. Of course, T-Mobile has attractive offers lined up too. New and existing T-Mobile customers, including Business customers, can grab the device for free (24 monthly bill credits) on adding a line with a 50GB or 100GB mobile internet plan. If you add a line with a 5GB mobile internet plan, the hotspot device will be available to you at $99. If you don’t plan to add a new line, T-Mobile will let you purchase its 5G mobile hotspot for an $8.25 monthly installment across 24 months. No down payment has to be made nor you’ll pay any interest.
