Kobo actually says that the exterior of this device is made of 85 percent recycled material, which is quite a high percentage. Kobo clearly said that its new e-reader is more “eco-conscious”. This device is a direct successor to the 6-inch Clara e-reader that arrived a long time ago, way back in 2022. Now, in terms of its recycled materials, let’s compare it to a Kindle product. The Kindle 2021 Paperwhite is made of 60 percent recycled plastic, and 70 percent recycled magnesium.

So, where is Kobo getting the plastic for this device? The company says that it plans to source the plastic for the Clara 2E from plastic bottles found in the ocean. Some percentage will come from CDs and DVDs from landfills.

The device has a 6-inch display, just like its predecessor. It also comes with blue light reduction feature called ‘ComfortLightPro’. There is also an HD E Ink Carta 1200 glare-free screen here, and Dark Mode is also included. The company also included 16GB of storage, while Bluetooth is also a part of the package. You will charge this device via a Type-C USB port that is included on the device. Kobo said that the Clara2E will go on sale starting on September 22. The device is now available to pre-order from the company’s website, though. This e-reader will be available in Canada, the US, the UK, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal, Switzerland, Poland, Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
