You can, of course, use pretty much any screen protector that is made for those devices. The thing is, if your fingerprint scanner is having issues, it could be due to the screen protector. That’s why Google shared this list, to ensure you’ll avoid such problems. Google shared a list of brands that make certified screen protectors for its devices. The company shared that list in a support document, that you can see here. The companies Google listed are Bigben, BodyGuardz, Case-Mate, OtterBox, Panzerglass, Power Support, and ZAGG. These are very well-known companies, and chances are you’ve heard of at least some of them. Bigben and Panzerglass mostly operate in Europe, while almost all others are available in the US. The prices differ based on the type of screen protector, and where you’re buying it, of course.

You can get a regular, plastic screen protector, or a proper tempered glass screen protector. Either way, prices range from around $20, to around $50, it all depends. It is worth noting that Google did improve the Pixel 7 series fingerprint scanner. It actually works really well in our testing, so the issues that the Pixel 6 series had may be behind us. In all honesty, basically any proper screen protector that you buy should work with both phones. These are optical fingerprint scanners, so you shouldn’t have issues with brands that are not listed here. If you do, however, by any chance, it is possible that has something to do with it. Chances are, however, that something else is to blame, like a bug of some sort, or an improperly registered fingerprint.
