In select countries, TikTok users will be able to opt for the option to upload their videos in 1080p resolution. You can select this option by clicking on the More button when uploading the video. Afterward, you need to toggle ON the Upload HD button. Another important feature that TikTok is adding to its platform is the update to the Green Screen Effect. Apparently, the company notes the Green Screen effect as one of the most used effects on TikTok since its launch back in 2019. For those who aren’t aware, the Green Screen effect allows creators to position or put themselves in front of different backgrounds or videos. So, creators could superimpose their video over a different background or video and make videos accordingly. Now, this Green Screen effect feature will support GIFs. To make this work, TikTok has partnered with GIPHY, a company which is owned by Meta (previously Facebook).

Users can now select any GIF from the library of GIPHY and use them on their green screen videos. This would allow users to create reaction videos with a GIF and be creative. Further, according to the official blog (via Engadget), the company is also adding a bunch of visual enhancement tools. Notably, TikTok is offering a one-click solution to improve the overall look of a video. The visual enhancement tool, when used, will help users to improve the exposure of the video, correct the lighting and colors of the video that are newly shot or uploaded via the phone’s library. In order to use this tool, you need to tap on a newly added ‘Enhance’ button, which will appear on the right-side. If you think the adjustments are way too much and don’t match your taste, then you can tap this button again to remove the effects. New musical and voice effects are also coming to the TikTok platform. While there is no understanding of this, but you can now turn your voice or any other sounds into either animal sounds or a sound of a musical instrument. This includes a flute or a cat. Not sure why many would like to sound like a ‘cat’, but it is there if you need it. You will be able to access this feature from the Editing page by tapping on the ‘Voice Effects’ button.
