You can now create your own community

Twitter has a Communities feature where users can tweet to their own private group of people. It’s like having a separate Twitter feed where only certain select people are tweeting. The thinking behind the communities is to connect people in a specific friend group or people who share certain interests. When you wanted to make a community before, you would have to send in an application to Twitter and wait for it to gain approval. However, according to XDA Developers, that might be a thing of the past. Now, on certain platforms, people have found a “+” sign in the Communities tab. This means that people can create their own communities right then and there (the feature worked for me, and I was able to create a community). Creating a community is a really easy affair. First, give it a name; the name needs to be at least 3 characters long, which shouldn’t be a challenge. After that, you have the ability to describe a purpose for your community. You don’t have to do it, but some people prefer to do it. After that, just tap “Save” and Voilà! you have your community. From that point, you’ll be greeted with an empty Twitter feed. Tap the share icon for options to get your community some traction. You can share the link to your community on different social media platforms. Also, you can directly invite people to your community with the invite option.

Non-video-centric platforms like Instagram and Twitter really lag behind platforms like YouTube when it comes to video quality. That’s understandable, and it makes us appreciate it more when a site like Twitter allows you to upload 1080p videos. Twitter now lets you upload 1080p videos via the desktop site. This is a great addition for people who don’t like uploading to the platform with their phones. There are a lot of professionally-made videos on Twitter that people edit with their computers. Transferring videos to their phones just to post them at high quality is just a pain. This will hopefully encourage more people to upload higher-quality videos to the site. Unfortunately, this feature is only for Twitter Blue users. This service costs $2.99/month, and it gives you some exclusive features. Non-paying users will be restricted to the current video resolution.
