Blue for Business is a subscription service for businesses. With this subscription, companies can link their multiple branches, brands, and individuals who work for them to their main accounts. The linked accounts will get a badge of their parent company’s profile picture. It will appear next to the verification checkmark, which can be either blue, gold, or gray depending on how Twitter identifies an account. For example, Twitter Support is a branch of Twitter. With Blue for Business, it will get a Twitter logo next to its gold checkmark. Likewise, the Twitter account of CEO Elon Musk will also feature the company’s logo. According to Twitter’s press release, companies can link “any number of” affiliated accounts to their main accounts. “Businesses can affiliate their leadership, brands, support handles, employees or teams. Journalists, sports team players, or movie characters can all be affiliated,” the press release states. “You name it, we got it.” The company says this will enable organizations to create a network of their affiliates on Twitter. The parent company can provide a list of its affiliates on the platform. The social network will verify and link the accounts based on this list. Twitter hasn’t shared the pricing of Blue for Business yet, though. The company says it will announce more details about this subscription service, including the criteria and process of the linking system, in the coming months. It is currently piloting the service with a select group of businesses. Blue for Business will open to more businesses who wish to subscribe next year. The social network also plans to offer more new tools for businesses on the platform in the future.

Twitter introduced Blue for Business just a week after it relaunched the revamped Twitter Blue service. Priced at $8 per month ($11 per month if you subscribe through the Twitter iOS app), it gives you access to exclusive features such as Edit Tweet, 1080p video uploads, reader mode, and a customizable navigation bar. But the biggest perk is the verification checkmark next to your account handle. With a Blue subscription, you will get the blue tick without needing to fulfill Twitter’s verification criteria. Twitter’s first attempt at this change was disastrous and forced the company to withdraw the service. But it has been working relatively smoothly this time around.
