The Vivo X Fold got announced earlier this year, back in February. It arrived with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. That device never made it to global markets, but let’s hope its successor will.

The Vivo X Fold S will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and that’s something Geekbench confirmed. The device appeared with a ‘V2229A’ model number. It managed to score 1,319 points in the single-core, and 4,045 points in the multi-core tests. This particular model includes 12GB of RAM, though several RAM and storage options may become available. The listing also claims that Android 12 will come pre-installed on the device. Vivo’s upcoming foldable also got certified by the 3C authority in China. This certification confirmed that the device will support fast charging, 80W fast wired charging, to be exact. In a separate post, a well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station, revealed more information about the device. The Vivo X Fold S will feature a 120Hz main display, though its secondary panel will likely offer such a high refresh rate as well.

The main display will be an LTPO panel, though, and will be able to go from 1Hz to 120Hz. A 4,700mAh battery was also mentioned by the tipster, as was an ultrasonic display. The phone will also offer a leather backplate, and a periscope camera. Do note that the Vivo X Fold S will become official in China soon. We still don’t know if this device will make it to global markets, though. Chinese OEMs have been careful when it comes to launching their foldables outside of China. That’s one of the reasons Samsung has complete dominance in the global foldable smartphone market. Some Chinese OEMs are planning to launch their foldables globally moving forward, and let’s hope Vivo is amongst them.
