Fitbit owners can also get detailed information on exercise zones via Assistant
Thanks to this new update, users can now ask Assistant about the number of steps they’ve taken, their resting heart rate, overall calories burned, and so on. Fitbit owners will also find detailed info on Exercise zones, including peak, fat burn, and cardio minutes. 9to5Google reports that the feature is available on Google Assistant for mobile (Android/iOS) and the Nest Hub. This aligns with reports from earlier this month about improved Google Fit and Fitbit integration with the Nest Hub. Answers to the user’s query appear in the form of cards along with information on the source of the data, as the screenshots show. Assistant will also notify users that the displayed data is “based on your last sync.” The new data is not yet visible on some Smart Displays. But since the feature is already available for the Nest Hub and mobile devices, we expect it to make it to other devices soon. As 9to5Google points out, the Nest Hub already offers a Wellness tab for sleep data, including tips and related stats.
The Google Pixel Watch will break cover this fall
The Google Pixel Watch will break cover this fall
These changes are part of Google’s push to improve Fitbit integration with Google hardware. This makes a great deal of sense considering the arrival of the Pixel Watch later this fall. After being secretive about the new wearable for a while, Google partially unveiled the “bold and stylish” Pixel Watch at I/O 2022 this month. However, customers will have to wait until fall this year to get their hands on the wearable. This tells us that the Pixel Watch would launch alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, which were also briefly mentioned during the I/O 2022 developer conference. We expect the wearable and the new Pixel flagships to be fully revealed in October this year. However, Google hasn’t confirmed this as of yet.
